Nishi Chaya district

Higashi Chaya district and Nishi Chaya district were completed and given official approval by the domain of Kaga in 1820. Chaya is a place for social gathering and to play with Geisya and Geiko. Then, Kazue town came to be regarded as third Chaya district. These three Chaya districts have been contributed to Kanazawa city’s development. Nishi Chaya district, where Dolls Museum is located, is smallest one in three. However, community of Nishi Chaya district has been keeping its own beauty and history. So, you can enjoy tasteful townscape and amazing architecture of tea houses. We hope that you are also pleased by Japanese dolls in this attractive district.
